Will a doctor or hospital pay medical bills if they are the cause of an injury?Return to FAQ Videos
We’re often asked if a doctor or a hospital will pay the medical bills after they caused injury to a person. Although we have no power to make a doctor, hospital or nurse pay for medical or hospital expenses as they are incurred, if a case is successful, a person may recover for the reasonable and necessary medical expenses that are related to the negligence. These can include the past medical expenses as well the future medical expenses that are more probable than not to be incurred. That’s the test in Florida that we would need to prove to a reasonable degree of medical probability or certainty, that future medical expenses will be incurred.
