What does contingency fee representation mean?Return to FAQ Videos
Contingency fee representation means that the attorney takes a percentage of the recovery that occurs at the end of the case. That’s the way the attorney gets paid. You’ve probably heard advertising, or online people talk about “no recovery, no fee.” That’s exactly the way contingency fee works. You don’t have to pay anything to the law firm up front, the attorney gets paid from a percentage of the money that is recovered at the end of a case. What’s important about contingency fee is that at the very beginning of a case, when we have to evaluate whether or not there is a case and what the strengths of a case are, we do all of the investigation and evaluation up front at no cost.
