How long does a medical malpractice case take?

Return to FAQ Videos

Transcript:

In this area of the state, the Tampa Bay area, a medical malpractice case usually takes eighteen (18) months from the time you begin it. That includes the ninety (90) days that is required to get the case started. Sometimes it can be much shorter if there is an interest by the defense to try and get the case settled. Occasionally they go longer if there are appeals or other matters that extend the time necessary to prepare the case.
