How long does a legal malpractice case take?

Return to FAQ Videos

In central Florida, particularly in the Tampa Bay area, to pursue a legal malpractice case, usually it takes anywhere from eighteen (18) months to two (2) years. There are variables that come into play. Some cases get settled much sooner, and others have appeals or matters that extend the period of time. We tell clients generally to plan on eighteen (18) months to two (2) years before a case will be resolved.
